Pebbles' Fashion Parade

In celebration of Pebbles return to good health we had a little fashion shoot of gifts a friend sent Pebbles for her homecoming.

We didn't post about Pebbles being sick till we knew for sure how she was. On Monday Pebbles woke from a nap choking and gagging!! Nearby was a clump of my tail hair!! It is assumed she must have swallowed some of my hair and as her throat was very inflamed the vet gave her an anti-inflamatory injection. However, during that night Pebbles became worse and was gasping for air. After a couple of days of being on Benadryl and steam therapy much to our relief she is back to her old self again. It was very scary and the vet is saying she may need an operation on her soft palate. We are keeping our fingers crossed that it was a one off incident and this operation will not be needed. I have been looking after Pebbles and napping with her to keep her company. Mommy says I am Pebbles' hero as I alerted her to Pebbles choking and gasping.

Butchy and Snickers thank you for the good advice mommy will do that. The vet said that dogs with squashed faces like Pebbles often have trouble with the soft palette being too long and sometimes it needs a little taken off it. The vet said they try really hard not to do this operation and mommy and daddy do not like the sound of it at all.

thaks everyone for your concern. Mommy spoke to Pebbles' breeder who offered to take her back but mommy said no, Pebbles is ours. Hopefully it was just my hair that tickled her throat and caused all this problem. Pebbles is only 14 weeks old so time will tell. As she grows perhaps the problem will correct itself.

Ronin so glad uou found us again. yes just like Pugs have squished in faces that is the same with Pebbles. That is a comfort to know as you grew everything was ok.

Chiyo lol I am trying to stop her from hanging off me but it is fun and i do enjoy playing with her soooo very much. That pink dress is mom's favorite too and it is a little big still so hopefully ot will still fit when it is our summer here.

You are a true hero! Have you taken doggy CPR classes? I hope Pebbles doesn't need surgery. Sometimes the steroids help pretty quickly.
